August 4–9 (Set-up August 3) – Athens County Fair
We’ll be at the Athens County Fair all week long — and we need your help! Volunteer for a shift at our Democrats table to help register voters, share campaign info, and connect with neighbors. Volunteers get into the fair free on the days they volunteer.
Fair set-up help needed: Sunday, August 3 at 1 PM. Meet at HQ to carpool.
Shifts available August 4–9, evenings 5–7 PM and 7–9 PM
Clean-up help needed: Saturday, August 9 at 7 PM

August 13-16 – Parade of the Hills
Join the Athens Dems at this beloved community celebration in Nelsonville. The parade takes place Saturday, August 16 at 6 PM — march with us and represent our values with pride.
Meet between 4:15 and 5 PM on Poplar Street along the parade route. Look for Patrice Beard and fellow Dems. Rain or shine.

August 23 – Town Hall
Join Knox County Indivisible for a town hall on Saturday, August 23 from 2–4 PM in Mount Vernon. Though Rep. Troy Balderson (OH-12) declined to attend, the event will go on — highlighting veterans’ concerns with speakers Jerrad Christian, Ken Harbaugh, and Mason Blankenship.

September 1 (Labor Day) – Old Settlers Reunion Parade
Help us bring Democratic energy to the Jacksonville parade, at 11:00 AM. Meet early to participate at 9:30–9:45 AM near Bread of Life Church. Park on the other side of the railroad tracks near the park. Look for our group along the parade route.

September 7 – Open Mic
More music coming your way in September. Join us at our HQ on Saturday, September 7 for an afternoon of live music and community. Details to be announced.
September 17–21 – Albany Independent Fair & Parade
We’ll be at the Albany Independent Fair all week and marching in the parade. The parade is Sunday, September 21 at noon. To join the Dems in the parade, meet at 11:15 AM on Washington Road. Look for our group along the route.
October 3 – Fall Dinner
Join us for our annual Fall Dinner on Friday, October 3rd. Social hour 5:30–6:30 PM, dinner at 6:30 PM. Keynote speech by Congressman Greg Landsman. American Legion Post 21, 520 W. Union St, Athens.
October 5 – Open Mic
Our October Open Mic will feature poetry and storytelling. Bring your original work or favorite piece to share. Details coming soon.
November 2 – Open Mic
November’s Open Mic continues the theme of poetry and storytelling. Whether it’s creative writing, spoken word, or personal stories — we’d love to hear your voice.
