- Glouster First Friday, between 5 – 8 PM: Bring a chair and join the Athens Dems at this Glouster community gathering happening July 1 (and August 5) at Sedalia Crossing Park located in the middle of town, across from the United Bank.

- Amesville Fireman’s Festival Parade, July 16: More information to come.

Office Updates
- Hours: We remain open on Wednesdays from 1:00-4:00 and are hosting the ODP coordinated campaign staff and the team working with Ric Wasserman for Athens County Auditor.
- Yard Signs: We are prepping the office for all the candidate’s printed materials and yard signs that are expected to arrive sometime in July.
- Meetings: As Covid numbers drop we will be hosting campaign activities and post card writing events. Want more information or want to get involved, email Andrea Reik.
- Reserve the Office: If you would like to reserve the office space for a meeting, please email Andrea Reik.

Committee Announcements
FUNDRAISING AND FINANCE COMMITTEE ensures that the party has adequate resources to maintain a strong political infrastructure in the county and to support Democratic candidates at the local, state and national level. Interested in finding creative and fun ways to fund the important work of electing good Democrats? Email chair Kate McGuckin.
The Spring Dinner was a great success and good to be able to see everyone in person. According to Treasurer Eliason, $7,881.00 has been received to date. There are still bills to be paid and sponsorships coming in. The Finance Committee will have a more detailed accounting in July. Thanks to Lisa Eliason, Kathy Hecht, Candy Russell, Ric Wasserman, George Bain, Jessie Markins for their hard work!
CANDIDATE RECRUITMENT COMMITTEE offers advice, support training and opportunities to help candidates and potential candidates take their campaign to the next level. To find out more, email chair Roxanne Groff.
The Candidate Recruitment Committee is moving forward in its search for a dedicated democrat to help our chair John Hasley step down and to take over the job of keeping the blue wave rolling. I am taking suggestions from folks who have given me names and am still asking for those interested to contact me so that I can get our interviews lined up for the committee. If you have someone to suggest or want to suggest yourself, terrific! Email Roxanne Groff. Please send me names ASAP so the committee can move ahead.
COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT COMMITTEE organizes our participation in community events, parades and festivals. To find out more or volunteer at one or more of the upcoming events listed in the poster at the top of this newsletter, email Patrice Beard.
June was a banner month for the Community Engagement Committee, with its volunteers representing the ACDP at Glouster First Friday, Coolville Founders Day Parade, Athens Pride Fest Field Day and OU’s Juneteenth Celebration. Thanks to all our wonderful volunteers!
NEIGHBORHOOD CAMPAIGN COMMITTEE organizes activities that develop connections, inform residents about democratic values, and help elect Democrats.
- The Athens Dem Neighborhood Volunteer team is working with ODP Coordinated Campaign to elect democrats in November. The first volunteer meeting for the campaign was hosted on June 25, another volunteer meeting is to be scheduled in early July. We are looking for volunteers to work on this election- we need volunteers willing to make telephone calls, door to door canvassing, distributing campaign literature, voter registration. What ideas do you have?
